2. Lan Ha Bay - The Quieter, Scenic Alternative

Overview: Located south of Halong, part of Cat Ba Archipelago

Lan Ha Bay is often called the “peaceful neighbor” of Halong. It has the same kind of scenery, limestone mountains, small beaches, clear water, but Lan Ha gives you more of a quiet, pristine, romantic feeling. Bai Tu Long is northeast of Halong Bay, stretching almost to the Chinese border. It covers a wide sea with limestone islands and pristine beaches.

It is not as bustling as Halong Bay, not as romantic as Lan Ha Bay, but Bai Tu Long Bay keeps for itself a special tranquility. Because it is far and less developed, it actually has a charm: the feeling of pure nature, still untouched.
